This class is for complete beginners and starts with the alphabet. Commencing on 23rd April 2022, the class will meet every Saturday, 13:00-14:00 (GMT+1). The class is conducted via Zoom.
Students should have access to Greek to GCSE book 1 by John Taylor (contact me if you have difficulty sourcing this). The class will require approximately 1-2 hours of independent study between each lesson.
In this 9 week term, you will learn the Greek alphabet and the class will expect to cover the following grammar: present tense indicative, imperative and infinitive; first declension eta and alpha variants; second declension masculine and neuter forms; the definite article; prepositions, εἰμί present tense; the genitive sandwich construction; adjectives and adverbs, and the future, imperfect and aorist tenses.
Dates for the summer term are 23rd April, 30th April, 7th May, 14th May, 21st May (NB no class on 28th May), 4th June, 11th June, 18th June, and 25th June 2022.
