This class is for complete beginners and starts with the alphabet. Commencing on 11th September 2021, the class will meet every Saturday, 13:00-14:00 (UK time). The class is conducted via Zoom.
Students should have access to Greek to GCSE book 1 by John Taylor (contact me if you have difficulty sourcing this). The class will require approximately 1-2 hours of independent study between each lesson.
In this 12 week term, the class will expect to cover chapters 1-3 of Greek to GCSE book 1. This includes the following grammar: present tense indicative, imperative and infinitive; first declension eta and alpha variants; second declension masculine and neuter forms; the definite article; prepositions, εἰμί present tense; the genitive sandwich construction; adjectives and adverbs; the future and imperfect tenses, and question words.
Dates for the autumn term are 11th, 18th, 25th September, 2nd, 9th, 16th, 23rd October (NB no class on 30th October), 6th, 13th, 20th, 27th November, and 4th December.
