This class is for complete beginners and starts with the alphabet. Commencing on 17th January 2022, the class will meet every Monday, 19:00-20:00 (UK time). The class is conducted via Zoom.
Students should have access to Greek to GCSE book 1 by John Taylor (contact me if you have difficulty sourcing this). The class will require approximately 1-2 hours of independent study between each lesson.
In this 11 week term, you will learn the Greek alphabet and the class will expect to cover chapters 1-3 of Greek to GCSE book 1. This includes the following grammar: present tense indicative, imperative and infinitive; first declension eta and alpha variants; second declension masculine and neuter forms; the definite article; prepositions, εἰμί present tense; the genitive sandwich construction; adjectives and adverbs; the future and imperfect tenses, and question words.
Dates for the winter term are 17th, 24th, 31st January, 7th February (NB no class on 14th February), 21st, 28th February, 7th, 14th, 21st, 28th March, and 4th April.
