Description

Meeting on Mondays, 19:00-20:00 (BST), this class continues with the basics of Classical Greek grammar using Greek to GCSE books 1 and 2 by John Taylor. The class is conducted via Zoom. The class will require approximately 1-2 hours of independent study between each lesson.

You should already be familiar with first, second and third declension nouns, and verbs in the active voice in the following tenses: present, future, imperfect, and aorist.

In this 10 week term, the class will expect to cover present, aorist and future participles, personal pronouns, the passive voice, and demonstrative adjectives. Throughout the course, students will continue to learn about the Classical Greek world through translation of various passages adapted to their current level of grammar.

Dates for the summer term: Monday 13th April, 20th April, 27th April, break on 4th May, 11th May, 18th May, 25th May, 1st June, 8th June, 15th June, and 22nd June 2026.

Tutor: Dr Kerry Phelan.

The class will proceed subject to a minimum number of enrolments.

Cancellation policy: students will receive a full refund if the student cancels their registration more than two weeks before the class begins. Students will receive 50% refund if the student cancels their registration 8-14 days before the class begins.
