This class will meet on Saturdays, 12:00-13:00 UK time, continuing with Latin to GCSE book 2 and Latin Beyond GCSE. The class is conducted via Zoom. The class will require approximately 1-2 hours of independent study between each lesson.
You should already be familiar with: all tenses in the Active and Passive voices; all noun declensions; conditional sentences; the Ablative Absolute; indirect statements and questions; basic uses of the Subjunctive mood; purpose and result clauses.
In this 12 week term, the class will expect to cover: a full review and consolidation of the grammar up to this point; further uses of the Subjunctive; sequence of tenses; future wishes; fear clauses; periphrastic future subjunctive. Students will continue to learn about the Roman world through translation of various passages adapted to their current level of grammar, as well as some unadapted texts.
Dates for the autumn term are 11th, 18th, 25th September, 2nd, 9th, 16th, 23rd October (NB no class on 30th October), 6th, 13th, 20th, 27th November, and 4th December.
