Meeting on Saturdays, 11:00-12:00 (UK time), this class continues with the basics of Latin grammar using Latin to GCSE book 2. The class is conducted via Zoom. The class will require approximately 1-2 hours of independent study between each lesson.
You should already be familiar with: all tenses in the Active voice; all verb conjugations; 1st, 2nd, and 3rd declension nouns and adjectives; personal and relative pronouns.
In this 12 week term, the class will expect to cover comparative and superlative adjectives and adverbs; the Passive voice in all tenses; participles; the Ablative Absolute; ‘If’ clauses, and the passive voice. Throughout the course, students will continue to learn about the Roman world through translation of various passages adapted to their current level of grammar.
Dates for the autumn term are 11th, 18th, 25th September, 2nd, 9th, 16th, 23rd October (NB no class on 30th October), 6th, 13th, 20th, 27th November, and 4th December.
