Description

This class is aimed at those who already have a good understanding of ancient Greek grammar. Students will read unadapted Classical Greek texts with the tutor providing explanations of aspects of Greek grammar as they arise. The class is conducted via Zoom and meets on Saturdays from 13:00-14:00 (GMT). Approximately 1-2 hours of independent study is required between each lesson.

In the spring term, the group will read Plutarch’s Life of Antony. We suggest the Cambridge Greek and Latin edition, edited by C.B.R. Pelling, ISBN 978-0521284189.

Dates for the autumn term: Saturday 10th January, 17th January, 24th January, no class 31st January, 7th February, mid-term break 14th February, 21st February, 28th February, 7th March, 14th March, 21st March, and 28th March 2026.

The class will proceed subject to a minimum number of enrolments.

Cancellation policy: students will receive a full refund if the student cancels their registration more than two weeks before the class begins. Students will receive 50% refund if the student cancels their registration 8-14 days before the class begins.
