Description
This class is for complete beginners and will meet on Saturdays at 16:00 (GMT). The class is conducted via Zoom and will require approximately 1-2 hours of independent study between each lesson. Students should have access to Latin to GCSE book 1, by Henry Cullen and John Taylor (ISBN 978-1780934402).
In this 10 week term, the class will expect to cover the following grammar: the present and imperfect tenses; the verb Sum, Esse (‘to be’); first and second declension nouns in all cases, and adjectives. Students will learn about Latin sentence structure and the fundamentals of grammar, and you will begin to see how closely related Latin is to English.
Dates for the spring term: Saturday 17th January, 24th January, 31st January, 7th February, 14th February, 21st February, 28th February, mid-term break on 7th March, 14th March, 21st March, and 28th March 2026.

The class will proceed subject to a minimum number of enrolments.
Cancellation policy: students will receive a full refund if the student cancels their registration more than two weeks before the class begins. Students will receive 50% refund if the student cancels their registration 8-14 days before the class begins.
