Description

This class is aimed at those who already have a good understanding of ancient Greek grammar. Students will read unadapted Classical Greek texts with the tutor providing explanations of aspects of Greek grammar as they arise. The class is conducted via Zoom and meets on Saturdays from 13:00-14:00 (UK/Ireland time). Approximately 1-2 hours of independent study is required between each lesson.

In the autumn term, the group will read Homer’s Iliad 24. We suggest the Cambridge Greek and Latin edition, edited by C.W. Macleod, ISBN 978-0521243537.

Dates for the autumn term: Saturday 20th September, 27th September, 4th October, 11th October, 18th October, 25th October, (mid-term break 1st November), 8th November, 15th November, 22nd November, 29th November, and 6th December 2025.

The class will proceed subject to a minimum number of enrolments.

Cancellation policy: students will receive a full refund if the student cancels their registration more than two weeks before the class begins. Students will receive 50% refund if the student cancels their registration 8-14 days before the class begins.
