Description

This class is aimed at those who already have a good understanding of ancient Greek grammar. Students will read unadapted Classical Greek texts with the tutor providing explanations of aspects of Greek grammar as they arise. The class is conducted via Zoom and meets on Saturdays from 13:00-14:00 (GMT+1). Approximately 1-2 hours of independent study is required between each lesson.

In the summer term, the group will read a selection of speeches by Lysias. We suggest the Cambridge Greek and Latin commentary, Lysias: Selected Speeches, edited by C. Carey, ISBN 978-0521269889.

Dates for the summer term: Saturday 26th April, 3rd May, 10th May, 17th May, 24th May, 31st May, 7th June, 14th June, and 21st June 2025.

The class will proceed subject to a minimum number of enrolments.

Cancellation policy: students will receive a full refund if the student cancels their registration more than two weeks before the class begins. Students will receive 50% refund if the student cancels their registration 8-14 days before the class begins.
