I’ve registered for the In-Person Summer School. What happens now?

I will be in touch with you in advance of the start date of 22nd July 2023. We will meet in the Junction cafe on the ground floor of the Main Site Tower. You will be sent a map.

What happens if I’ve registered for the wrong class?

If you feel you’re in a class which is too challenging, or not challenging enough, tell us and we will move you to a more appropriate level. We ask that you tell us you’d like to move by the end of the first day of the Summer School.

Will I have to participate in class?

We encourage you to participate in class, in order to gain the most out of your Summer School experience. Online students should let their tutor know if they prefer not to be called upon. Classes are small and non-judgemental. It really doesn’t matter if you make a mistake and we’d love you to have a go!

Will there be homework?

Yes! Your tutor will set work for you to complete in the break between classes and for the next day to consolidate learning and prepare for the next class. It is in your best interests to complete the work in order to gain the most from your Summer School experience.

Can I take two courses at the Summer School?

In order to gain the most from your summer school course, and to allow time for homework and independent study, it is not possible to take two classes.

How much time do I need to devote to study?

Students should expect approximately two hours independent study each day of the summer school.

Do I have to buy a textbook?

No, you do not need to buy a textbook since all notes will be provided. If you already own a textbook, you might like to keep it handy to refer to.
