Description

This class is for complete beginners and will meet on Saturdays, at 13:00-14:00 (GMT+1). The class is conducted via Zoom and will require approximately 1-2 hours of independent study between each lesson. Students should have access to Latin to GCSE book 1, by Henry Cullen and John Taylor.

In this 9 week term, the class will expect to cover the following grammar: the present and imperfect tenses; the verb Sum, Esse (‘to be’); first and second declension nouns in all cases, and adjectives. Students will learn about Latin sentence structure and the fundamentals of grammar, and they will begin to see how closely related Latin is to English.

Dates for the summer term: Saturday 26th April, 3rd May, 10th May, 17th May, 24th May, 31st May, 7th June, 14th June, and 21st June 2025.

The class will proceed subject to a minimum number of enrolments.

Cancellation policy: students will receive a full refund if the student cancels their registration more than two weeks before the class begins. Students will receive 50% refund if the student cancels their registration 8-14 days before the class begins.
