Description
This intensive Classical Greek course meets on Thursday evenings (19:00-21:00 GMT) for 2 hours per week. The class is conducted via Zoom and will require approximately 2-3 hours of independent study between each lesson.
Students should have access to Greek to GCSE part 1 and part 2 by John Taylor.
You should be familiar with first and second declension nouns, prepositions, adjectives and adverbs, and the present, future, imperfect, and aorist tenses in the active voice.
In the spring term, students will expect to cover third declension nouns, participles in the present, future and aorist tenses, first, second and third person pronouns, the passive voice, and demonstrative pronouns.
This course is suitable for those who wish to move at a faster pace, and for those who may be considering sitting the GCSE examination in 2026. Participants may wish to consider sitting the examination for the Intermediate Certificate in Classical Greek in June 2025. This exam can be taken every June, by students in the UK and internationally.
Dates for the spring term: Thursday 9th January, 16th January, 23rd January, 30th January, 6th February, (mid-term break on 13th February), 20th February, 27th February, 6th March, 13th March, 20th March, and 27th March.

The class will proceed subject to a minimum number of enrolments.
Cancellation policy: students will receive a full refund if the student cancels their registration more than two weeks before the class begins. Students will receive 50% refund if the student cancels their registration 8-14 days before the class begins.
