Classical Greek: Intermediate 3 (Summer term)

Students will continue to learn Greek grammar. This term we will hope to cover the middle voice, deponent verbs, the passive voice in the future and aorist tenses, the genitive absolute construction.

Description

This class will meet online, on Saturdays at 15:30 (GMT+1), continuing with Greek to GCSE book 2, by John Taylor. The class is conducted via Zoom and will require approximately 1-2 hours of independent study between each lesson.

You should already be familiar with all noun declensions, and the active, middle and passive voice in the present, and imperfect tenses.

In this 9 week term we will expect to cover the middle voice, deponent verbs, the passive voice in the future and aorist tenses, the genitive absolute construction, and reflexive pronouns.

Students will continue to learn about the Classical Greek world through translation of various passages adapted to their current level of grammar.

Dates for the summer term are Saturday 26th April, 3rd May, 10th May, 17th May, 24th May, 31st May, 7th June, 14th June, and 21st June 2025.

The class will proceed subject to a minimum number of enrolments.

Cancellation policy: students will receive a full refund if the student cancels their registration more than two weeks before the class begins. Students will receive 50% refund if the student cancels their registration 8-14 days before the class begins.
