Description
This class is aimed at those who already have a good understanding of ancient Greek grammar. Students will read unadapted Classical Greek texts with the tutor providing explanations of aspects of Greek grammar as they arise. The class is conducted via Zoom and meets on Saturdays from 13:00-14:00 (BST). Approximately 1-2 hours of independent study is required between each lesson.
In the summer term, the group will read Euripides’ Medea. We suggest the Cambridge Greek and Latin edition, edited by Donald J. Mastronarde, ISBN 978-0521643863. Geoffrey Steadman’s commentary is available as a free download here.
Dates for the summer term: Saturday 18th April, 25th April, 2nd May, 9th May, 16th May, mid-term break 23rd May, 30th May, 6th June, 13th June, 20th June, and 27th June 2026.

The class will proceed subject to a minimum number of enrolments.
Cancellation policy: students will receive a full refund if the student cancels their registration more than two weeks before the class begins. Students will receive 50% refund if the student cancels their registration 8-14 days before the class begins.
